Rate it against your heaviest realistic load, not your average one, and remember capacity drops as lift height increases and when attachments are fitted. A truck rated 5,000 lb at 24 inches of load center may handle considerably less at full mast extension with a clamp. We work backwards from your actual loads and lift heights before quoting.
