Carried new — plus inspected used
Bobcat Forklifts in Northern Virginia
Bobcat industrial forklifts cover the rugged end of the range — pneumatic-tire machines for lumber yards, steel service centers, port-adjacent operations and anywhere the ground is not a polished warehouse slab. Capacities run to 40,000 lb, which is what the heavy side of this metro actually needs.
Bobcat forklifts sold, rented and serviced across the Dulles corridor. Free, no-obligation quotes.
The line
Why we quote Bobcat
the Dulles corridor has more genuinely heavy forklift work than most metros its size, and Bobcat is the line that covers it. The Port of the Dulles corridor terminals at Haymarket, Fairfield and Locust Point handle breakbulk, steel and project cargo on outdoor aprons, and the I-66 corridor at Gainesville adds wind components and laydown-yard work next to a working deepwater terminal. Where a typical the Dulles corridor County warehouse is well served by a 5,000 lb truck, these operations regularly need 15,000 to 40,000 lb machines with the mast and carriage to match.
Tire choice is the decision buyers most often get wrong, and it is not close. Cushion tires on gravel or broken asphalt is a losing proposition — the truck bottoms out, tires wear fast and operators fight the machine all day. If any meaningful part of the job happens outside on an unfinished surface, pneumatic is the right call even when most of the work is indoors. That covers most contractor yards and building supply operations around Centreville and northern Anne Arundel County.
Salt air is the Dulles corridor-specific variable, and it is the one most buyers underestimate. A truck working the Haymarket, Locust Point or Gainesville aprons corrodes measurably faster than the same machine three miles inland — masts, carriages, chains and electrical connectors all take it. We treat sealed connectors and additional mast and carriage protection as standard specification for waterfront addresses rather than as an upsell, and we recommend a tighter inspection interval than the manufacturer baseline.

Before you buy
Buying Bobcat used: what to check
These separate a good used truck from an expensive one, and all of them are checkable before you commit.
Corrosion first, hours second
On any used truck that worked near the water — Haymarket, Locust Point, Gainesville — corrosion matters more than the hour meter. We check mast channels, carriage, chains and every electrical connector before anything else.
Tires are a real line item
A set of pneumatic tires on a heavy machine is not a trivial cost. Worn tires are fine if the price reflects them, but they should be priced in rather than discovered after delivery.
Attachment wear
If the truck came with a clamp, rotator or fork positioner, that attachment has its own service life and its own hours. We inspect and price it separately rather than treating it as a free extra.
Frame and mast on heavy units
Machines that lived on breakbulk and steel take structural abuse a warehouse truck never sees. On anything above 15,000 lb we inspect for frame cracking and mast distortion.
Questions
Bobcat questions
1 Where can I buy a Bobcat forklift in the Dulles corridor?
Dulles Forklifts sells Bobcat industrial forklifts throughout the Dulles corridor, including the port areas of Haymarket, Fairfield and Locust Point, plus Manassas, Gainesville, Centreville and the surrounding counties. Call (703) 000-0000 for current availability.
2 How heavy do Bobcat forklifts go?
The industrial pneumatic-tire range runs from 3,000 lb up to 40,000 lb, which covers the breakbulk, steel and project-cargo handling common around the Port of the Dulles corridor, Manassas Marine Terminal and the I-66 corridor. We spec the mast, carriage and attachment package around what you actually lift, which matters when loads are long, off-center or awkwardly shaped.
3 Do I need pneumatic or cushion tires for yard work?
Pneumatic, without much qualification. Pneumatic tires provide the ground clearance and tread to handle gravel, broken asphalt and uneven ground, and they still work perfectly well indoors on a decent slab. The reverse is not true — a cushion-tire truck struggles the moment it leaves finished concrete. If any part of the job is outdoors on an unfinished surface, buy pneumatic.
4 How does salt air near the Port of the Dulles corridor affect a forklift?
It accelerates corrosion on masts, carriages, chains and electrical connections, and trucks working the aprons age noticeably faster than the same machine inland. For any waterfront address we spec sealed connectors and additional mast and carriage protection as standard, and recommend shortening the greasing and inspection interval below the manufacturer baseline. It costs a little more up front and adds years to the machine.
